THIS TOUR INCLUDES A CHANCE TO SWIM WITH THE NURSE SHARKS AND SEE EELS UP CLOSE! It is safe. On select days (Fridays and Sundays), we will experience nurse sharks and eels up close. Ask us for more details on this bucket list experience!
Head out over the ecologically important sea grass flats with a marine biologist or experienced naturalist guide on a single kayak, a double kayak or a stand-up paddle board (SUP).
This trip provides the chance to see juvenile nurse sharks, bonnet head sharks, southern stingrays, manatees, sea turtles, various invertebrates, and a wide variety of juvenile fish.
This is also a great opportunity to practice your paddle boarding skills or find your kayak groove.
This eco-tour will have you on and in the water all day. This tour is perfect for the person who wants to become fully immersed in three different marine eco-systems found in the Florida Keys.
Head through an old growth mangrove ecosystem, and view an array of tropical birds. There is a chance of seeing double breasted cormorants, green herons, great egrets, great blue herons, white herons, Wurdemann’s herons, ibis, brown pelicans, and more. There are iguanas swimming from island to island, juvenile fish relying on the old growth tunnel as a nursery, rays swimming in and out on the tunnel, and more. There is even a chance of possibly seeing an endadngered American crocodile back along this mangrove tunnel trail. There are manatees who often feed on the sea grass in the main channel, and tarpon swimming along.
Enjoy a wonderful local dockside lunch (including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan menu choices).
Then, head out on a boat and snorkel at two different coral reef locations in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Encounter a rich variety of marine life. Snorkel alongside your expert guide if you want, or venture on your own. We will make sure your gear is working great and that you feel comfortable in the water. Converse with your guide about fish identification and intriguing fish behavior, leading you to new discoveries. This is the chance to see sea turtles, dolphins, spotted eagle rays, manta rays, yellow spotted rays, southern stingrays, eels, docile nurse sharks, black tip reef sharks, barracudas, and a wide array of tropical fish species. This is a great trip for virtually any level of swimmer; or person with a lot or just some snorkeling experience, or none at all.
Take in the sunshine and the picturesque blue ocean views on the boat trip back.
