OUR STORY
It all began during childhood...
I remember my mother always creating these very elaborate, fabulous birthday parties for me as a child growing up in Guadalajara, Mexico. I would beg her to take me with her when choosing the decorations, color themes and food! Since my 4th birthday party, I knew I wanted to plan parties when I grew up.
Finally, I grew up, went to the University of New Orleans for finance and then became a second grade teacher. I moved to the United States when I was only seven years old and entering second grade, so it holds a very special place in my heart. I've always worked hard to give my students the best second grade experience ever with fun activities and parties.
Then, I began planning parties and small gatherings for my friends, family and coworkers. When the pandemic hit and we could no longer get together and celebrate special occasions, I began to have to find more ways in which we could get together and stay as safe as possible without loosing our minds indoors and that's when I ran into the picnic idea.
While this luxury picnic idea is not my own and has already been tried in other parts of the world, I couldn't help but notice that we did not have anything like this here that was active, so I decided to put on my big girl pants and create it myself for my friends, family and the rest of the people of New Orleans that are tired of being indoors but do not feel safe going to enclosed public spaces yet.
We have partnered up with other local businesses to provide you with the best experience possible. We, at NOLA PopUp Picnic, will provide you with the table set up (tables are made by us) along with a rug from Banana Manor Rugs to sit on. Faubourg Wines provides you with the best wines in the city and Charcutiee brings the most beautiful and exquisite charcuterie boards!
