From early times, Hawaiians farmed the volcanic soil of the Upcountry fields, growing taro and sweet potato. Take a farm tour in Kula and see how Maui produces the famous Maui onion and other fresh farm-to-table ingredients for Maui’s finest restaurants. Discover small town Makawao, home to the paniolo (Hawaiian cowboys) and a thriving art scene and shopping. Stop by historic (1918) Grandma’s Coffee House for Organic Maui grown coffee and Grandmas original homemade recipes. Visit the Lavender Farm for Lavender Tea or Coffee and scones and a walking tour in the gardens. Zipline at “Fodor’s Travel 2016 Most Amazing Zipline in the World”, on Skyline Haleakala zipline through a fragrant eucalyptus forest.
