About

Take a tour with a knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Discover wide, well lit, underground tunnels, and see gold ore naturally in the rock. Less than 500 feet walking distance and no stairs. The path is easy to navigate. Learn about Colorado history. Hear the about the adventures of prospectors and miners. Explore mining equipment and the milling process of how to extract the gold out of the rock.

After your tour you will learn how to pan for gold. We will provide you a gold panning lesson and loan you a gold pan to use. During warm weather months, pan for gold in gently flowing mountain creek for as long as you would like or until dark. Many have found pieces of glimmering gold and gems. During cold weather, pan for gold underground in our panning tank. The panning tank is setup to simulate the creek environment which means there is gold and other gems for you to find. You get to keep what you find in the creek and the underground panning areas.

Seasonal Winter Hours (October 1 – November 15)
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - 12:00pm to 5:00pm (last tour starts at 4:00pm)
Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday - 10:00am to 5:00pm (last tour starts at 4:00pm)

Year-Round Hours
7 Days a Week - 10:00am to 5:00pm (last tour starts at 4:00pm)

What to Bring

A light jacket or sweatshirt is recommended as the mine is typically 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
