Depending on the weather and time of year, we offer different ways to learn how to pan for gold:
Cold Weather Option
A lesson is given at our underground panning table. Then the students have a hands-on experience of using what they have learned to pan for gold.
Warm Weather Option
A lesson is given along a gently flowing mountain stream. It is ideal to learn how to pan for gold from creek gravels. Then the students get to use the skills they have learned to try their hand at panning. They get to keep any treasures found in the creek.
Picnic Table Pavilion
Our covered picnic area is located next to the panning area. There are 2 large tables. It can be reserved for groups upon your request at no charge.
