Colorado's wild elk rut
Duration
9 hours
About
This tour is all about finding and observing wild elk during their annual rut. From mid-September to late October, Rocky Mountain bull elk vie for the attention of females and compete to secure harems of as many as 50 individuals.
On this tour, you will experience the magic of autumn in the Rocky Mountains. Listen to the iconic bugle of 12-point bull elk and watch them defend their harems as you feel the growing chill of the autumn air and enjoy the yellowing of aspen leaves.
This an evening tour: we will depart Denver at 1:30 pm and be back by 8:30 pm. A picnic dinner is included along with spotting scope, binoculars, and a professional naturalist guide.
