As the sun shines, rainbows play across the bottom of the crystal-clear spring basin at DeLeon Springs, a beautiful spot along the edge of the St John’s River and Woodruff National Wildlife refuge. Both, a popular day-use recreation area, and an important archaeological site, the Springs showcase the delicate balance necessary between enjoyment of the outdoors and preservation of irreplaceable resources. Fly in for breakfast at the Old Spanish Sugar Mill where they have been serving in a unique and unusual style since 1961. Each of their tables are equipped with a griddle and they bring you pitchers of homemade pancake batters you pour on and flip them over right at your table. Don't forget to take a sip at the Fountain of Youth!
