About
With a significant 2.5mph-constant current, rock springs run provides a workout for the stand up paddler seeking a challenging paddle with amazing scenery. - We rate rock springs upper run as a Intermediate in difficulty paddle, 15 and older only, must know how to swim. The scenery is truly amazing and during the week early in the morning the river is much less crowded! There are several rest spots along the way upriver so we will be stopping and taking breaks. Important for this paddle is that you know how to paddle with your core and steer your board with bow turns and cross bow turns. These skill sets will be reviewed before we take off upriver. About 3 miles total distance.
Called Emerald Cut because when the sun cuts thru the evergreen trees and reflects off the white sand bottom there are sections that become emerald in color, truly amazing natural beauty that is well worth the effort to see it! The turn around and down stream run is super fun! There's a small swimming hole with a rope swing for anybody who up for a tree climb and swing after the paddle! On the way upstream there are several rest spots, depending on the group's needs we will utilize these sand bars to catch our breath and rest for a minute.
