Southern Living’s Comeback Neighborhood

Rider $58

Local resident, active military, student $43.50

Springfield, Southern Living Magazines Comeback Neighborhood of the South, has a special sense of community on this attraction, where neighbors know their neighbors, not just on their block, but the ones who live all over the district. Combine that friendliness with easy commutes, walkable and bike able streets, historic shady parks, and beautiful period homes dating back to the late 1800's, and you have yourself a truly spectacular transitional community. Established in 1869, Springfield was home to some of the Jacksonville film industries first actors and a film studio. Truman Capote spent summers with his grandmother, and Ottis Toole, (famed serial killer of Adam Walsh and arsonist) stayed here. This attraction boasts some of the most spectacular historical parks, charming residential streets and stories of the famous that once called this home. Free Parking. Shops, restaurants and Karples Manuscript Museum are here.
