About The Captain
Capt. Matt is a Florida native growing up in central Florida , Cocoa Beach. He took his first job early on a 80 foot fishing boat. Working his way through ranks from cook to Captain he quickly knew this was his life's passion. In addition to his fishing charter experience he has been a para sail operator, commercial fisherman, snorkel/dive boat captain, an Eco tour guide, and a private yacht charter captain. He holds a U.S.C.G. 100 ton master's license. In 2013 Captain Matt moved to Key Largo with the dream of operating his own charter. With the help of his daughter's middle name that dream came true and Graceful Fishing Charters was born, where they work tirelessly to show you the very best time on the ocean.
About Our Charters
During our offshore charters in Key Largo we troll for Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, Marlin, and Sailfish. These fish are generally caught in the crystal clear blue water of 15-20 miles off the coast of the upper keys between the depths of 400 and 1000 feet. On the reef we catch Hogfish, all varieties of Snapper, Grouper, Mackerel, Porgys, and sharks. On this charter we fish 7 miles off the coast in 70-280 feet of water and it generally makes for a calmer charter. Enjoy a ride on our 40ft Bertram sportfishing boat. The Somerset is 14ft wide with an ice cold air conditioned cabin with a full bathroom, large fly bridge with seating for the whole charter.
