Abyss Dive Center is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center located in Marathon, at Florida Keys mile marker 53.5. We are ocean side and a short boat ride away from over 50 dive sites along 14 miles of prolific reefs and history filled wrecks! Abyss is a full service dive center open 7 days a week from 8:00am to 5:00pm. We offer scuba training from entry level through PADI Instructor training, Divers Alert Network provider courses through DAN Instructor courses, USCG OUPV to 100 Ton Master Captain license. We offer complete Scubapro rental equipment, which is replaced yearly, as well as a full diving sales inventory and equipment service. We take pride in featuring Scubapro dive equipment.
Vitamin Sea is a custom designed, 34 foot Crusader. We carry a maximum of six passengers. Vitamin Sea is equipped with a fresh water shower, a toilet facility, a dedicated camera rinse tank, and drinking water. There is a large cooler on board to keep any food or personal snacks cold as well. All diver training takes place at Abyss Dive Center. We offer conveniences such as a fresh water pool, classroom, Scubapro gear, gear locker for students or divers, and boat dock all located on site. PADI, DAN, and USCG captains license courses are our specialties thanks to a team of dedicated, experienced instructors, and instructor trainers. We are an official PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center (IDC), and DAN Industry Partner.
Proof of certification is required to dive. Standards require divers that have not been diving in a period of two years or more to complete a refresher course. Woman who are pregnant are not permitted to dive. A timing device is required; dive watch or computer. All dives are unguided, but you can hire a guide to dive with you. The Thunderbolt has a wreck fee of $75 split among all passengers on the trip.
